Manjaree Precinct

This year, Manjaree (Bathers Beach) will be the central hub for the Fremantle Biennale.

Stretching from the shoreline to the port, this salt-stained precinct will be transformed into a vibrant cultural and community space. Over 3 weeks expect major artworks and installations, live music, workshops, a sea-side sound sauna and an ocean-facing community kitchen. A temporary sanctuary to meet, make, move and reflect, with free art, live music, shared meals and more.

Sound Sauna

A sea-side sound sauna, blending traditional heat therapy with immersive audio journeys by sound artists and musicians. A ritual of steam, sea bathing and listening.

Artworks, Performances & Special Events

Every weekend, the precinct will come alive with installation, performance, sound and dance. From breathing tunnels and singing couta boats to saltwater songlines and maloya dance parties – no two days will be the same.

Pavilion

Our 2025 Architectural Pavilion, Home for All has been designed Fremantle-based architects Officer Woods. Built from reclaimed materials and responding to our theme, Home for All will house our Community Kitchen and Public Programs for the festival duration.

Community Kitchen

A space for food, story and gathering. Designed by architects Officer Woods, our ocean-facing kitchen hosts takeovers, talks and workshops from our favourite chefs, food-makers and community groups. From sardines on the grill to native tea ceremonies; Cambodian shared meals and sambal-soaked breakfasts – this is Perth’s hottest kitchen for three weeks only.

Manjaree Music

As the sun sets, musicians and guest artists soundtrack the golden hour with free live music across the Biennale.

Public Programs

Artist conversations, panel discussions, sunrise swims and tours. Come behind-the-scenes of our festival.
